FAQs for Visitors & New Members

I’m New – Your First Visit to Claremont United Church

Sunday Worship Services:

September to June:  Worship services start at 11:15 a.m.

Join us for coffee at 10:30 a.m. before the services

July and August:  Worship services start at to be announced.

 

What time should I arrive?

The front doors are open around 10 a.m.  Plan to arrive any time between 10 and 10:30 a.m.

 

Where should I park?

There is a parking lot right beside the church.  You can also parking on the street if the parking lot is full.

 

What should I wear?

There is no real dress code.  Wear something comfortable.  Most people wear casual attire; some people wear blue jeans and a t-shirt or turtleneck sweater or casual shirt.  Some people wear a suit and tie.

 

Is there Sunday School for children?

Parents and children worship together.  There is usually a children’s story during the Sunday service.  After the children’s story and following hymn, children go to Sunday School downstairs.

 

What can I expect in the worship service?

Our services are for all members of the family and with that in mind, we sing some traditional hymns that you may be familiar with and newer contemporary hymns that appeal to all age groups.  The sermon is clear, biblical and applicable to everyday life and relevant to what is happening in our world today.

 

How long is the worship service?

The worship service is an hour long.

 

What happens after the worship service?

Everyone is invited to gather after the service for refreshments and conversation and stay as long as they want.
